Video Editing

I have been experimenting with video editing since I was in 4th grade, and slowly develop my video editing skills over time. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for creative storytelling, I bring ideas to life by transforming raw footage into polished content that is captivating and resonate with audiences.

I have been producing various types of videos. I have most experience in creating long videos, but in the past 3 years, I have been working on making shorts/reels, and also video ads for social media as well.

Long Videos

The type of video that I have most experience creating is long videos, because it’s the format that has been around for the longest time. I used to create videos using Windows Movie Maker up till I was in high school, then I switched to Vegas Pro till recently. I currently use CapCut to edit videos as it has a lot of features that can make our videos more marketable that are easy to use.

WASHITERU – Application Training Video

For this video, one of my team members came up with the initial draft of the video edit. I provided the voiceover for this video, polished the audio and visuals, also designed and created the video watermark animation at the top right corner.

FREE CATARACT SURGERY IN JAMBI

My boss worked at a charity that provides free cataract surgery for people in need. During this time, they were operating in Jambi. After he came back, I was assigned to create the video for this event.

I began the video by showing the entire process of cataract surgery; starting with registration, moving through the waiting period, and finally the surgery itself. After the surgery, many patients felt like it was a miracle to regain their vision. In my editing, I aim to highlight the sentiments of these moments for the patients, the raw emotion they felt when their vision is restored.

Periodic Table By Fiony

It was 2015, and my sister is supposed to present for her chemistry class, but because her teacher was absent on her presentation day, her class was told to submit the presentation recording and the PowerPoint slides online via Google Drive. Initially, she just told me to edit a song and animate the title for her PowerPoint slides, but shortly after she showed me the presentation video she planned to submit: a poorly recorded video of her presenting in class. I told her that I can barely hear her voice in the recording, or even see what was shown on the projector. Not only that, her slides include the whole script of her presentation, making it too packed with text. Thus I come up with the idea to produce this video instead.

I significantly reduce the amount of text in her original PowerPoint slides and created a new crappy PowerPoint file with her entire script for her teleprompter. When that is done, I directed and set up the recording for her presentation shoot, while helping click the next slide in her teleprompter. When the recording is done, I recorded a video of the slide timing, render the video, and combine it with her presentation recording. And the final result is this video.

The actual presentation video that my sister submitted includes a music video of the periodic table by AsapSCIENCE, but I can’t show it in this preview (despite it being unlisted) because it will get taken down by YouTube.
I will share the link to the music video here.

Shorts / Reels

I don’t make short form videos or reels that often, but I ever did. At this time, I was still doing trial and error regarding my skills in editing vertical videos. But here are some of the short videos that I have created in the past.

Social Media Ads

With my current job involve handling ads and I found that the single image ads doesn’t perform that well in Meta, I decided to experiment with video ads. It has more reach and also higher conversion rate.

When I create ads for social media, I first think of who the target customers are and what are their pain points. Then, I’ll try to play around with their pain points and show how the product can solve their pain. I usually edit existing agency videos and combine them with the footages recorded by our IT support team. If the video needs additional voiceover, I do it myself.

Here are some of the social media ads that I have created.
